      Assyrian National Council of Illinois is a nationwide non-profit organization that promotes public awareness of Assyrian issues, encourages greater American-Assyrian participation in the American democratic process, and assists in humanitarian and development programs in Illinois and all over USA, and also in Middle East where the Assyrian community resides. 

The Assyrian National Council of Illinois (ANCI) was established as a non-profit, community based organization in 1986 to respond to the urgent needs of Assyrian immigrants and war refugees from the Middle East countries (Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey) resettled in Illinois. The ANCI is an organic body (that) transcends all denominational, social and other affiliations. In free democratic elections, open impartially to all Assyrian, 15 representatives from the Assyrian community in Illinois are elected to the Council for 3 years terms.
